Frequently Asked Questions
PRODUCT
Most of our pieces are made in our own workshop in Monroe, Connecticut. We also partner with small workshops across the United States to produce the pieces that we can't make in our facility. We’re proud to work with artisans and support small businesses throughout our supply chain.
Safety is a top priority for us, and we go to great lengths to keep our products free of toxic chemicals. To that end, our paints and finishes are isocyanate-free, phosphate-free, formaldehyde-free, and lead-free. Additionally, our kitchens have been rigorously tested by a CPSC-approved third-party safety lab for lead, heavy metals, and to comply with California's stringent Prop 65 requirement.
We take safety and environmental responsibility seriously, so we only use the finest materials for our toys and furniture. We source naturally sustainable Baltic birch from the Baltics and solid maple grown here in North America. We chose these materials for their unparalleled strength, aesthetic appeal, and eco-friendly characteristics. Our nontoxic finishes are lead-free, phthalate-free, formaldehyde-free, and have also been independently tested for lead, phthalates, heavy metals, and adherence to the federal toy safety standard. For more information on our materials or processes, please contact us at support@miltonandgoose.com.
Yes! Our products have been rigorously tested by an independent, CPSC-accredited lab to comply with relevant federal regulations. Our kitchens meet or exceed ASTM F 963 toy safety standards. For more information on our compliance certificates, please contact us at support@miltonandgoose.com.
We built a one-of-a-kind play kitchen that marries form, function, and safety. Our play kitchens take a cue from real designer kitchens, have been rigorously tested to meet or exceed applicable safety standards, and are handcrafted right here in the USA from furniture-grade, eco-friendly woods and nontoxic finishes. No batteries, no particle board, and no MDF. Our play kitchens, like any quality children's furniture, are built to last, from day to day, sibling to sibling, and generation to generation.
Many of our pieces do not require any assembly, and for those that do, very minimal assembly is required. The assembly can be done in a short amount of time with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Our play kitchens require very minimal assembly, which should be under 10-15 minutes.
We build our toys and furniture with years of future play in mind, so to ensure a long lifespan for your product, surface clean only with a dry soft cloth. To clean small stains, use a slightly damp cloth and if necessary, a mild detergent. Wipe all spills immediately and avoid using any abrasive cleaning agents or scrubs, including ammonia- or alcohol-based formulas.
SHIPPING
We ship our products via UPS Ground. For orders outside of the continental US, we'll offer alternative shipping methods at checkout.
All of our products are shipped via UPS Ground, which takes anywhere from 1-5 business days. Our products ship from Pennsylvania and Connecticut, so you can expect a shorter transit time on the east coast and a few days more to get to the west coast. For orders outside of the continental US, please refer to the shipping times listed at checkout.
Yes, you will receive an email with tracking information.
Unfortunately, due to the weight and size of our packages, overnight shipping is typically very costly. Please reach out to support@miltonandgoose.com to discuss your options for a quicker delivery timeframe.
We offer shipping to the United States and Canada. We hope to offer more international shipping destinations in the future. Please sign up for our newsletter to be notified once international shipping is available.
We are happy to offer free shipping on our entire website for orders going to the continental US; however in some cases, we charge an Oversized Fee on some of our larger pieces. Because many of our larger products ship nearly fully assembled (yay!), our boxes fall into the "oversized" category with UPS, so to help offset a portion of these additional fees, we charge a small, flat-fee oversized rate on these items. Products that have an associated Oversized Fee are clearly marked in the product listing, and orders that are subject to shipping charges (i.e. international orders, Hawaii and Alaska) will be calculated at checkout.

COMPANY
Our company name is inspired by a painting of the famed 17th Century English poet, John Milton, and a colorful wooden goose. These two pieces of art were featured prominently in our company founder Shari Raymond’s childhood home and were the launching point of countless hours of imaginative play and storytelling. To her, they represented the incredible power of a child’s imagination. This is what inspires our designs--a simple prompt to let your child's imagination take flight.
We’re happy to answer your questions or provide more information about our pieces. You can contact us by emailing support@miltonandgoose.com. We aim to respond to all inquiries within 48 hours.
